IFRS — Associate

Recognition and measurement of the core IFRS standards, applied and worked

Key facts

About the IFRS — Associate certification

An associate-level certification that moves beyond the framework into the recognition and measurement rules preparers apply every day. Building on the Foundation certificate, it works through the standards that shape most sets of financial statements: the IFRS 15 five-step revenue model, with worked allocations on relative stand-alone selling prices, variable consideration and the constraint, principal-versus-agent analysis and the over-time versus point-in-time distinction; property, plant and equipment under the IAS 16 revaluation model and component depreciation, alongside borrowing costs (IAS 23), government grants (IAS 20) and investment property (IAS 40); intangible assets and the research-versus-development divide (IAS 38); the impairment model of IAS 36, including cash-generating units and goodwill; provisions, onerous contracts and contingencies (IAS 37); lessee and lessor accounting under IFRS 16, with a fully worked amortisation table; and deferred tax under IAS 12, built from the tax-base concept up through worked computations. Every topic is taught with Mermaid diagrams, journal entries, numeric examples and a hands-on lab. It is the natural bridge between the Foundation and Professional certifications.
