About the Certified Team Leader certification
The Certified Team Leader (CTL) certification is built for new and aspiring team leaders who need to make the hardest transition in any career: from delivering the work themselves to delivering results through others. It replaces instinct and imitation with validated leadership models you can apply on Monday morning. You will master the shift from manager to leader and from authority to influence, and sidestep the traps that catch almost every first-time leader. You will learn how teams actually develop — Tuckman's forming, storming, norming and performing — and how to build the trust, healthy conflict, commitment, accountability and results at the heart of Lencioni's Five Dysfunctions, underpinned by Amy Edmondson's psychological safety. You will understand what truly motivates people through Maslow, Herzberg and self-determination theory, and turn that into engagement. You will practise the core leadership craft: situational leadership and clean delegation, SBI feedback, GROW coaching, effective one-to-ones, difficult conversations and the Thomas-Kilmann conflict modes. Finally you will drive execution with SMART goals and OKRs, sharp meetings and sound decisions.
